Saebo Certification – Live
1-Day Course
The course consists of lecture and lab. The lecture portion of the program covers the latest treatment techniques, common clinical concerns, supporting research, and introduces Saebo’s functional dynamic orthoses specifically designed for upper extremity stroke rehabilitation.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this online course the participant will be able to:
- Identify common upper extremity impairments following a stroke
- Demonstrate awareness of current research evidence for common treatment strategies for the upper hemiparetic limb
- Describe the principles of Saebo’s Functional Dynamic Orthoses (SaeboFlex and SaeboReach) and the Saebo Arm Training Program
- Describe the principles of the SaeboStretch resting hand splint
- Identify the components that make up Saebo’s Orthoses
- Perform a clinical evaluation of the hemiparetic upper extremity for the appropriateness of the Orthoses
- Complete the fitting procedure for the Saebo Orthoses
- Develop a patient-specific Saebo Arm Training treatment plan
- Describe how to incorporate the Orthoses and Saebo Arm Training principles into your current treatment practice
CE Credits
Saebo is an accredited provider of continuing education by the American Occupational Therapy Association, Inc. (AOTA), provider # 7253. This program awards OTs/OTAs 0.8 CEUs, and contains content classified under both Occupational Therapy Process and Domain of OT. Assignment of AOTA CEUs does not imply endorsement of specific course content, products, or clinical procedures by AOTA. Following successful completion of the training, clinicians are eligible to measure, fit and order Saebo’s dynamic neurological orthoses.
1/2-Day Course
The course consists of Self-Study lecture and an On-site lab. You will need to complete the lecture component prior to class, and take the assessment associated with the material. Please bring your completed assessment to class.
