"She was so thrilled with her newfound abilities with the SaeboGlove"
I recently demoed the new SaeboGlove with a patient who I have been working with off and on for the past three years. This patient is 32 years old and has had multiple strokes and seizures as a result of a rare disease process. She has right hemiparesis with fair control of her shoulder, elbow, and wrist with finger flexion. She also has mild tone, which limits her ability to release objects.
We first did a trial of her grasping and releasing 1” wooden blocks. She was able to pick them up but not release them. Usually she uses shoulder abduction to compensate, but with the glove on she was able to release multiple times before fatiguing. Her hand-to-shoulder movements were more in sync than usual with less compensation. She was so thrilled with her newfound abilities with the Glove.
After we finished the trial, I felt like the Glove would continue to help my patient in a unique and meaningful way. I have worked with her for years and have grown to love her, her husband, and her children. She is truly an amazing woman fighting every day for her recovery. She takes pride in assisting with raising her family and does all she can with her limitations. Both her and her husband have lost their jobs of many years due to this medical catastrophe. Her husband has been creative in finding jobs where he can bring her along or work from home, but finances for them continue to be tight. I try to give back to the community and to my patients on a personal level, sometimes through purchasing equipment that my patients could benefit from in their rehab. I decided to buy the SaeboGlove for this patient since she saw such amazing results in the one hour that she used it during the trial. I look forward to seeing how my patient will be able to progress now that she has her own Glove.
I have been really impressed with the company’s customer support. Every email has been responded to promptly and on point. I look forward to new products and witnessing first hand long term use of the SaeboFlex and Glove to see if they produce continued increase in function.
